If you're not convinced, here is an unsettling fact: every year, about 50 children in the U.S. are injured or killed by strangulation involving window-covering cords. We don't have the stats on pets, but they are victims, too.

Our innovative safety features include:

• PowerRise^® is a battery-operated remote control system that allows you to raise or lower shades at the touch of a button, thus eliminating the need for cords.
  
• LiteRise^® touch system allows you to raise or lower blinds with a single touch.
  
• PermAssure^® safety wand eliminates looped pull cords completely, replacing them with a wand that remains safely out of a toddler's reach.
  
• UltraGlide^® is equipped with a single, retractable cord that remains at the same length whether the shade is raised or lowered. This system makes cords less available to young children.
  
• Break-Thru^® safety tassel is designed to break open under pressure should a child or pet become entangled in the cord loop. This is a standard feature on all Hunter Douglas horizontal blinds.
  
• Cord Tensioner, a specially designed cord weight with spring tension and brackets, improves the safety of cord-looped products.
